Challenge

To revitalize Silver Spring Metro Center with a fresh identity that matched its pivotal role as a transit and commercial hub in Maryland.

More than a rebrand, the challenge was to create cohesion across multiple buildings and elevate the experience of commuters, tenants, and passersby alike.

Goal

To establish a brand presence that could live both in motion and at rest—seamlessly connecting architecture, transit, and human flow.

We designed a bold new logo, typography system, and color palette that brought clarity, energy, and timelessness to the project.
From there, we activated the space with layered visual moments:

  • A redesigned wayfinding system, including large-scale exterior signage, building connectors, and branded metro access points.

  • Rotulated glass panels across available spaces that echoed the new visual identity while informing and inviting.

  • Branded merchandise—tote bags, caps, reusable cups—created a sense of ownership and community pride.

  • Exterior banners and printed pieces increased visibility and solidified the new look in the public eye.
    Everything worked together to signal that Silver Spring was not just transforming—it was stepping into its next chapter with purpose.

Result

The rebrand brought immediate cohesion and energy to the area, sparking recognition and excitement within the community.

What was once a collection of structures is now a recognizable, unified destination—anchored by thoughtful design and a clear sense of place.
